This is an opportunity for a Java Web Developer on a highly visible, fast paced program. This position includes collaboration with both technical and non-technical personnel across all project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Develop testable code using existing service tier components and prescribed coding conventions
Work in a dynamic environment utilizing advanced debugging skills
Demonstrate flexibility and attention to detail, working in a collaborative team environment using emerging technologies and modern software development practices
Under Lead Developer guidance work to define requirements, research candidate technologies, and support development of prototype solutions. Work with existing and emerging UI web application frameworks and integration frameworks and technologies
Support full life cycle development, including participating in planning, design sessions, development, testing and deployment
Interact with diverse cohesive team to provide high quality client delivery.
Qualifications
Knowledge of a variety of standard concepts, practices and procedures in coding software applications; and proficiency in VMWare ESC, Linus OS, Java-JDK + Oracle RDBMS, and Apache Tomcat-outputting HTML, XML, CSV, XLS
Testing, integrating and evaluating new system functions and features in the development and user acceptance environments and deploying to the production environment when approved by the PM
Monitoring system performance to identify inefficiencies and making recommendations for improvements
Monitoring and ensuring accuracy of functionality for existing and new system-to-system interfaces and views
Resolving issues and coordinating with stakeholders as needed
Updating, installing and testing DoD approved third party plugins and software
Ability to work independently in a team environment
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or an equivalent amount of work experience
3+ years of professional software engineering and software development experience
